If the roots of the equation `(b-c)x^2+(c-a)x+(a-b)=0` are equal then `a,b,c` will be in

A

A,P

B

G.P

C

H.P

D

none of these

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

sum of coeff.`=(b-c)+(c-a)+(a-b)=0`
`therefore alpha =1` is root
other root `beta , (a-b)/(b-c)`
Also `alpha =beta ('given ")`
`1=(a-b)/(b-c)implies a-b=b-c`
`implies 2b= a+c a,b,c ` are in A.P
