Show that `x=1` is a root of the polynomial `2x^3-3x^2+7x-6`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let `f(x)=2x^3-3x^2+7x-6`.
Putting `x=1` in `f(x)`, we get
`=2(1)^3-3(1)^2+7(1)-6`
`=2-3+7-6`
`=0`
Thus, the value of `p(x)` comes to be `0` after putting `x=1`.
`therefore x=1` is a root of the polynomial `p(x)`.
