Find the rational roots of the polynomial `2x^3+3x^2-11 x-6`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The given polynomial is `2x^3+3x^2-11 x-6`.
According to the rational root theorem, all possible rational roots are in the form p/q where p is the factor of constant and q is the factor of the leading term.
In the given polynomial constant term is `-6`.
Factors of `-6` are `±1, ±2, ±3, ±6`.
In the given polynomial leading term is `2`.
Factors of `2` are `±1, ±2`.
Hence, all possible rational roots are:
`±1, ±2, ±3, ±6, ±1/2` and `±3/2`.
