Suggest a reagent for conversion of ethanol to ethanoic acid.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Ethanol can be converted into ethanoic acid using acidified `KMnO_(4)` or `K_(2)Cr_(2)O_(7)`. Both `KMnO_(4)` and `K_(2)Cr_(2)O_(7)` are strong oxidising agents.
