Describe solvent extraction method to purify a compound.

Suppose that an organie compound A is more soluble in an orgenic solvent than in water but present in aqueous solution. The aqueous solution is shaken with the organic solvent. Then A goes into the organic solvent which is immiscible with water. The organic layer is separated and distilled to remove the liquid solvent. The compound A remains in distillation flask.
