Hydrocarbons are classified as alliphateic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons. Alliphatic hydrocarbons are again classified as open chain hydrocarbons and closed chain hydrocarbons i.e, Cyclo hydrocarbons. Both open chain and closed chain hydrocarbonsare again classifed as hydrocarbons containing
1). C-C( alkanes and cycloakanes)
2. `gt C=C lt ("alkenes and cycloalkenes")`
3). `C-=C-(alkenes and cycloalkenes")`
