LH (luteinising hormone), also called as ovulation hormone. LH surge in the mid of menstrual cycle of 28 days induces the rupture of Graafian follicle and thereby the release of ovum. It also helps in the formation and maintenance of corpus luteum, if fertilisation does not occur.
