Identify the oxidising agent (oxidant) in the following reactions
`{:((a), Pb_(3)O_(4) + 8HCl to 3PbCl_(2) + Cl_(2) + 4H_(2)O, (b), 2Ca + O_(2) to 2CaO.),((c), CuSO_(4) + Zn to Cu + ZnSO_(4), (d), V_(2)O_(5) + 5Ca to 2V + 5CaO),((e), 3Fe + 4H_(2)O to Fe_(3)O_(4) + 4H_(2), (f), ZnO + H_(2) to Zn + H_(2)O):}`

(a) In this reaction, HCl has been oxidised to `Cl_(2)` (Removal of H) and `Pb_(3)O_(4)` has been reduced to` PbCl_(2)`(Removal of O). Hence, `Pb_(3)O_(4)` is the oxidising agent (oxidant).
(b) Mg has been oxidised to MgO (Addition of O). Hence, `O_(2)` is the oxidant.
(c) This reaction occurs as
`Cu^(2+)+Zn to Cu+Zn^(2+)`
Here `Cu^(2+)` has gained two electrons to form Cu. Hence, `Cu^(2+)` has been reduced to Cu. But Zn has donated two electrons to form `Zn^(2+)` . Hence, Zn been oxidised to `Zn^(2+)`. Thus, `CuSO_(4)`is the oxidising agent.
(d) Ca has been oxidised to CaO (Addition of oxygen), whereas `V_(2)O_(5)` has been reduced to V. Hence, `V_(2)O_(5)` is the oxidant.
(e) Fe has been oxidised to `Fe_(3)O_(4)` whereas `H_(2)O` has been reduced to `H_(2)` . Hence, `H_(2)O` is the oxident.
(f) CuO has been reduced to Cu whereas to Cu whereas `H_(2)` whereas `H_(2)` has been oxidised to `H_(2)O`. Hence, Cuo is the oxidant.
