Assertion (A) Both rhombic and monoclinic sulphur exist as `S_(8)` but oxygen exists as `O_(2)`.
Reason (R ) Oxygen forms `ppi-ppi` multiple bond due to small size and small bond length but `ppi-ppi` bonding is not possoble is not possible in sulphur.

A

Both Assertion and Reason are correct statements , and Reason is the correct explation of the Assertion.

B

Both Assertion and Reason are correct statements , and Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion.

C

Assertion is correct, but Reason is wrong statement.

D

Assertion is wrong but Reason is correct statement.

Both assertion and reason are correct statements, and reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.
Both rhombic and monoclic=nic sulphur exist as `S_(8)` but oxygen exists as `O_(2)` , because oxygen forms `ppi-ppi` multiple bond due to its small size and small bond length. But `ppi-ppi` bonding is not possible in sulphur due to its bigger size as compared to oxygen.
