Calculate the difference between the two principal specific heats of 1g of helium gas at S.T.P. Given atomic weight of helium = 4 and `J = 4.186 J cal^(-1)` and `R = 8.31 J mol^(-1)K^(-1)`.

Here, `M_(w) = 4, R = 8.31 j "mole"^(-1) K^(-1), J = 4.185 j cal^(-1)`
Now, `C_(P) - C_(v) = r//j` where `C_(P)` and `C_(V)` are principle specific heats and r is the gas constant or
`C_(P) - C_(V) = R//M_(w) J` where R is the universal gas constant
`:. C_(P) - C_(V) = (8.31)/(4 xx 4.186) = 0.496 cal g^(-1) k^(-1)`
