A mason constructs a wall of dimension `270 cm xx 300 cm xx 350 cm` with the bricks each of size `22.5 cm xx 11.25 cm xx 8.75 cm ` and it is assumed that `(1)/(8)` space is coverd by the mortra. Then, the number of bricks used to construct the wall is .

A

11100

B

11200

C

The correct Answer is:
B

Volume of the wall `= 270 xx 300 xx 350 = 28350000cm^(3)`
Since,`(1)/(8)` space of wall is convered by mortar.
So, remainig space of wall = Volume of wall - Volume of mortar
`= 28350000 - 28350000 x(1)/(8)`
` 28350000 - 3543750 = 24806250 cm^(3)`
Now, volume of one brick `= 22.5 xx 1125 xx 8.75 = 2214.844 cm^(3)" " [therefore "Volume of cuboid" = "lenght" xx "breadth" xx "height"]`
`therefore` Requried number of bricks `=(24806250)/(2214.844) = 11200` (approx)
Hence, the number of bricks used to construct the wall is 11200.
