The equivalent resistance between A and ...

The equivalent resistance between A and B for . the circuit shown in this figure is

A

`13.1Omega`

B

`15.1Omega`

C

`17.1Omega`

D

`19.1Omega`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

For a equivalent resistance betweeen A and B.
`5Omega and 8Omega` resistance are connected in series. R' their equivalent resistance is parallel to `6Omega`
``therefore R'=5+8=13Omega and (1)/(R'')=(1)/(13)+(1)/(6)=(6+13)/(78)=(19)/(78)`
`R''=(78)/(19)`
Now, `4Omega, R'' and 5omega` resistance are connected in series equivalent resitance between A and B.
`therefore R_("eq")=4+(78)/(19)+5=(76+78+95)/(19)=13.1Omega`
