Why is there a fizz when a soda water bottle is opend?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In soda water bottle, `CO_(2)(g)` is dissovled in water udner high pressure since normal presrure the solubility of the gas is small. Now, when the bottle is opend, the pressure of the gas inside the bottle decreses. As a result. The solubility of the gas decreases. therefore, the dissovled gas escapes for the bottle and there is a fiz.
