HCI is a stronger acid then `CH_(3)COOH` but both have almost same acidic strength when dissolved in liquid ammonia. Explain.

`underset("Acid-I")(HCl) + underset("Base-I")(NH_(3)) ("Liqud") hArr underset("Base-I")Cl^(+) + underset("Acid-II")(NH_(4)^(+))`
`underset("Acid-I")(CH_(3)COOH) + underset("BaseI")(NH_(3)) ("Liqud") hArr underset("Base-I")(CH_(3)COO^(-)) + underset("Acid-II")(NH_(4)^(+))`
Liquid ammonia is such a strong base that even `CH_(3)CPOOH` which is otherwise a weak acid gets almost completely dissociated in it. It therefore behaves as a strong acid just like HCI.

Assertion (A): A certain recation is catalysed by acids and the catalytic activity of 0.1M solutions of the acids in water decrease in the order, HCI, HCOOH , and CH_(3)COOH . The same reaction takes place in anhydrous NH_(3) , but the three acids have same catalytic effect in 0.1M solution. Reason (R) : The order of catalytic activity in water is the same as the order of acidity. in anhyrous NH_(3) , all the three acids are strong.
