Show that the time taken to complete 3//...

Show that the time taken to complete `3//4th` of the reaction for first order reaction is twice that of the half life period `(t_(A//2))`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For a first order reaction , `t=(2.303)/k log a/(a-x)`
Ist case, `t_(3//4)/t_(1//2) = (log 4)/(log2) = (0.6020)/(0.3010) =2`
