Do the vital functions of the body such as digestion get affected during fever ? Explain your answer.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The digestion in the body is mainly due to enzymatic activity. The optimum temperature in the human body ranges between 298-310 K. On either side of this temperature, the enzyme activity is hampered or adversely affacted. In case of high fever, enzyme activity is affected and this leads to disorder in the stomach such as stomach pain, loss of apetite etc.
