What are alloys? Name an important alloy which contains some of the lanthanoid metals . Mention its uses.

An alloy is a homogeneous mixture of different metals or metals and non-metals.
Misch metal is an alloy of cerium (Ce), lanthanum (La), neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe) and traces of carbon. Sulphur aluminium etc. It is used in making parts of jet engines.
