what is the relationsphip between observed colour of the complex and the wavelength of light absorbed by the complex ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When white light falls on the complex, some part of it is observed in causing d-d transition or spitting. Higher the crystal field splitting, lower will be the wavelength of the radiations absorbed by the complex. The observed colour of light generated will correspond to the wavelength which is left over.
