`(i) = ("Molecular mass (calculated)")/("Molecular mass (experimental)")`
Given, molecular mass (experimental) is double.
`:. i = (1)/(2)`
Also,
`:. (i) = (1 - alpha) + (alpha)/(n)`
where, `alpha`= degree of association and n = number of particles associated. (Hence `n=2, :. i=1//2`)
Therefore, `(1)/(2) = (1 - alpha) + (alpha)/(2) " " (1)/(2) =1 - (alpha)/(2)`
or `(alpha)/(2) = (1)/(2) " " or, alpha = 1`
