If an electron is subjected to a force of `10^(-25)` N is an X-ray machine, then find out the time taken by the electron to cover a distance of 0.2m. Take mass of the electron `10^(-30)` kg.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The acceleration of the electron
`a=(F)/(m)=(10^(-25))/(10^(-30))=10^(5) ms^(-2)`
The time taken by the elecron (t) to cover the distance (s) of 0.2m can be given by
`s=ut+1/(2)at^(2)`
`implies 0.2=0+(1)/(2)xx10^(5)xxt^(2)`
`implies t^(2)=0.4xx10^(-5)=4xx10^(-6)implies t=2xx10^(-3)s`
