A positively charged ball hangs from a long silk thread. Electric filed at a certain point (at the same horizontal level of ball) due to this charge is E. Let us put a positive test charge `q_(0)` at this point and measure `F//q_(0)` on this charges. then E

A

`gtF//q_(0)`

B

`=F//q`

C

`ltF//q_(0)`

D

cannot be estimated

The correct Answer is:
a

due to presence of test charge `q_(0)` in front of positively chrged ball there would be redistriubtion of charge on the ball In the redistribution of chrge , there will be less chrge on front lhalf surface and more charge on the back half surface as result the net force F between ball and charge will decresse i.e the electric field is decreased . Thus actual electric field will be greater than `F//q_(0)`
