To reduce the range of voltmeter, its resistance need to be reduced.A voltmeter has resistance `R_(0)` and range V. Which of the following resistance when connectyed in parallel will convert it into a voltmeter of range `V//n?

A

`nR_(0)`

B

`(n+1)r_(0)`

C

`(n-1)R`

D

`None of these

The correct Answer is:
d

When a resistanc is connedcted in parallel it reduces the resistamnce of combination but the range is not reduced. For the purpose of reducing the range the reisitance in series with the galvanometerneed tobe reduced.
This cannot be achieved by connecting a resistance in parallel with voltmeter. It should benoted that the range of volmeter can only be increased but cannot be decreased
