If a spoke is connected between the rim ...

If a spoke is connected between the rim of the wheel and the centre (axlc) and `B_(mu)` is the earth 's horizontal component of total field perpendicular to the plane of the wheel and the wheel is rotated with an angular speed, then what will be the induced emf between the ends of the spoke ?

Induced emf `=1/2 BomegaR_2`.
Note : Induced emf .e. `=Bd/(dt)` (area of a sector swept by the between the two points on the rim).
i.e., `e=Bd/(dt)((R_2)/2theta)=1/2BR^2(d""theta)/(dt)=1/2BR^2omega`

A wheel with 8 metallic spokes is 50 cm long is rotated with the speed of 120 rev/min in a plane normal to the horizontal component of the earth magnetic field. The Earth's magnetic field at the place of 0.4 G and the angle of dip is 60^(@) . Calculate the emf induced between the axel and the rim of the wheel. How will the value of emf be affected if the number of spokes were increased.
