A cat is able to land on its feet after a fall. Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When a cat falls to ground from a height, it stretches its body alogn with the tail so that its moment of inertia becomes high. Since `1omega` is to remain constant, the value of angular speed `omegas` decreases and therefore the cat is able to land on the ground gently.
