Side of a cube is measured with the help of vernier calliper Main scale reading is `10mm` and verinier scale reading `1` it is known that `9 M.S.D = 10 V.S.D` Mass of the cube is `2.735g` Find density of the cube upto apporoprita significant .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Least count `= ((V.S-M.S))/(V.S)` Least count `=0.1mm`
legnth of side of cube `=M.S.R + V.S.R xx ` least count
`= 10 + 1 xx 0.1 = 10.1 mm`
density `= (mass)/(volume) = (2.735)/((10.1)^(3)) = 0.0026546`
using significant the correct answer would be `0.00265` .

The side of a cube is measured by vernier callipers ( 10 divisions of a vernier scale coincide with 9 divisions of main scale, where 1 division of main scale is 1mm ). The main scale reads 10mm and first division of vernier scale coincides with the main scale. Mass of the cube is 2.736 g . find the density of the cube in appropriate significant figures.

The edge of a cube is measured using a vernier callipers. [ 9 divisions of the main scale is equal to 10 divisions of the vernier scale and 1 main scale dividsion is 1 mm ]. The main scale division reading is 10 and 1st division of vernier scale was found to be coinciding with the main scale. The mass of the cube is 2.736 g . Calculate the density in g//cm^3 upto correct significant figures.

Given that 1 M.S.D. of a vernier calliper is 1 mm and it's least count is 0.001 cm then the number of vernier scale divisions is 100.

The diameter of a solid sphere is measured by varrier calipers (10 VSD =MSD) and (1MSD =1mm) the reading of main scale is 20 & varnier scale reading is 1. the volume of sphere will be

The main scale of a vernier calliper reads in mm and its vernier scale is divided into 8 divisions, which coincides with 7 divisions of the main scale. It was also observed that, when the two jaws are brought in contact, the zero of the vernier scale coincided with the zero of the main scale. The edge length of a cube is measured using this vernier calliper. The main scale reads 12 mm and 2^("nd") division of the vernier scale coincides with the main scale. The edge length (in mm) of the cube is

The zeroeth division of a vernier scale lies between the 40th and 41th main scale divisions. Then, the M.S.R. = 4 cm if M.S.D = 1 mm.

The internal jaws of a vernier calipers were held tightly inside a hollow tube when the zero of the vernier scale showed a reading of 1.9 cm and the 18th division on the vernier scale. The thickness of the wall of the tube is 1 mm. If M.S. D. = 1 mm and the number of division on the vernier scale is 20, find the outside diameter of the hallow tube.
