A small status has a height of `1cm` and is placed in front of a shperical mirror. The image of the statue is inverted and is `0.5cm` tall and located to `10cm` in fornt of the mirror. Find the local lenghth and nature of the mirror.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have `m = (h_(2))/(h_(1)) = -(0.5)/(1) = -0.5`
`v = -10cm` (real image)
B ut `m = (f-v)/(f), -0.5 = (f+10)/(f) rArr f = (-20)/(3)cm`
so, concave mirror.
