For pure water

A

`pK_(w)` increses with decreases in temperature

B

`[H_(2)O]` decreases with increase in temperature

C

`alpha_(H_(2)O)` increases with decrease in temperature

D

Both `pH` and `pOH` decrease with rise in temperature

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

On heating pure water the value of ionic product of water increases I.e, `K_(w)=10^(-14)` at `25^(@)C` and at `100^(@)C K_(w)=10^(-12)` Thus `pH` and `pOH` both becomes `6` at `100^(@)C (pH` and `pOH=7` at `25^(@)C)`
