Calculate the molarity of pure water (d ...

Calculate the molarity of pure water (d = 1 g `mL^(-1))`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Density of water = `1 g mL^(-1)`
Mass of 1000 ml of water = `V xx d`
`=1000 m L xx 1 gm^(-1)`
`=1000 g`
Moles of water = `(1000)/(18) = 55.55` mol
Now mole of `H_(2) O ` present in 1000 mL or 1 L of water .
So , molarity = 55.55 M
