A charge `q` is located at the centre of a cube. The electric flux through any face is

A

`(piq)/(6(4 pi epsilon_(0)))`

B

`q/(6(4pi epsilon_(0)))`

C

`(2piq)/(6(4piepsilon_(0)))`

D

`(4piq)/(6(4pi epsilon_(0)))`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

From Gauss.s law
`phi=q/(epsilon_(0))`
This is the net flux coming out of the cube.
Since a cube has 6 sides so electric flux though any face is
`phi.=(phi)/6=q/(6 epsilon_(0))=(4piq)/(6(4piepsilon_(0)))`
