A simple harmonic oscillation has an amplitude `A` and time period `T`. The time required to travel from `x = A` to ` x= (A)/(2)` is

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Time required to travel from y = a to y = 0 = T/4
Time required to travel from y = 0 to y = a/2 is given by
`y = a sin omega t rArr (a)/(2) = "a sin"(2pi)/(T).t`
`rArr "sin"(pi)/(6) = "sin"(2pi)/(T).t rArr (pi)/(6) = (2pi)/(T).t rArr t = (T)/(12)`
Time required to travel from y = a to y = a/2 is
`=(T)/(4) - (T)/(12) = (T)/(6)`
