100 ml of gaseous mixture containing `CO, CO_(2) and O_(2)` was sparked there was contraction of 80mL volume when the nixturc was passed through aqueous caustic potash KOH. The omposition of initial gaseous mixture will be respectively:

The correct Answer is:
c,d

`CO+(1)/(2)O_(2) to CO_(2)`
10mL `O_(2)` will give 20mL `CO_(2)` in above reaction. Thus, total volume of `CO_(2)` will be 80mL which will be absorbed in caustic potash KOH. Similarly in (c ) O option, 30mL `CO_(2)` will be formed on sparking.
`underset("Limiting")underset("30mL")(CO)+(1)/(2)O_(2) to underset("30mL")(CO_(2))`
Total volume of `CO_(2)` will be 80mL

100 ml of mixture of CH_(4)(g), O_(2)(g) "and" CO_(2)(g) was sparked. There was contraction of 70 ml volume when the mixture was passed through aqueous KOH. The composition of initial gas mixture in (ml) will be in order of CH_(4)O_(2),CO_(2) :

A mixture of 100ml of CO,CO_(2) and O_(2) was sparked. When the resulting gaseous mixture was passed through KOH solution, contraction in volume was found to be 80ml , the composition of initial mixture may be (in the same order)

200ml of a gaseous mixture containing CO,CO_(2) and N_(2) on complete combusion in just sufficient amount of O_(2) showed contration of 40ml . When the resulting gases were passed through KOH solution it reduces by 50% then calculate the volume ratio of V_(co_(2)): V_(CO): V_(N_(2)) in original mixture .

A 20 ml mixture of CO,CH_4 , and Helium (He) gases is exploded by an electric discharge at room temperature with excess of oxygen.the volume contraction is found to be 13 ml. A further contraction of 14 ml occurs when the residual gas is treated with KOH solution. Find out the composition of the gaseous mixture in terms of volume percentage.
