When only a force `F_(1)` acts on a body of mass 3 kg, it accelerates in north east direction with an acceleration of `sqrt(2)m//s^(2)`. When only a force `F_(2)` acts on it accelerates in south east direction with an acceleration of `sqrt(2)m//s^(2)`. What force `F_(3)` (in N) should act on body along with `F_(1)` and `F_(2)` so that the body is in equilibrium.

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
6

, `F_(1)=3hat(i)+3hat(j)`
`F_(2)=3hat(i)-3hat(j)`
`F_(1)+F_(2)+F_(3)=0`
`F_(3)=-6hat(i)`
`|vec(F)|=6` Newton
