Find force on short dipole P(2) due to s...

Find force on short dipole `P_(2)` due to short dipole `P_(1)` if they are placed at a distance r a part shown in figure.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Force on `P_(2)` due to `P_(1)`

`F_(2)=(P_(2))((dE_(1))/(dr))`
`:. F_(2)=(P_(2)) (d/(dr) ((2 kP_(1))/r^(3)))` or `F_(2)=- (6KP_(1)P_(2))/r^(4)`
Here - sign indicates that this force will be attractive (opposite to r)
