Find the solutions of the equation cos(c...

Find the solutions of the equation `cos(cos^-1 x) =cosec (cosec^-1x)`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`cos (cos^(-1) x) = x " for " x in [-1, 1]`
`cosec(cosec^(-1) x) = x " for " x in (-oo, -1] uu [1, oo]`
`rArr cos (cos^(-1) x) = cosec (cosec^(-1) x) " for " x = +- 1` only.
Hence, there are two roots only
