(a) Lymph is a modified tissue fluid formed by exudation from plasma and flows through the lymph vessels.
(b) Functions of lymph : (i) It supplies nutrients to tissue cells. (ii) It drains out metabolic wastes from the tissuecells.(iii) It absorbs digested fat and fat soluble vitamins. (iv) It transfers proteins from the tissue fluid to blood.
(v) Lymphocyte and monocyte cells in lymph help in body defence.
(c) Lymphatic obstruction causes swelling of the leg due to oedema. (d) Filaria due to infection of Wuchereria bancrofti.
