I. Sillicon is the second most and carbon is the secenteenth most abundant element (by mass) in the earth curst. Ge, sn and Pb are present in trace amounts.

electronegativity decreases from C to Si and then become constant.
III. All the elements of group 14 are abailable in solid state. Thus, statemments (I) and (III) are correct .
