Let `c_(1) and c_(2)` be the velocities of the two electromagnetic waves in the given medium.
`therefore " " mu_(1) = (c)/(c_(1)) and mu_(2) = (c)/(c_(2))`
`[c = "velocity of electronmagnetic wave in vacuum"]`
`therefore " " (mu_(1))/(mu_(2)) = ((c)/(c_1))/((c)/(c_2)) = (c_(2))/(c_(1))`
`"Now since" " " mu_(1) gt mu_(2), "therefore" " "c_(2) gt c_(1).`
So the second wave moves faster through the medium.
