The pressure at an orifice situated at the lower side of a vessel filled with a liquid is greater than the atmospheric pressure by `9.8xx10^3 N. m^-2`. What is the velocity of efflux if the density of the liquid is 2500 kg. `m^-3` ? `[g=9.8 m. s^-2]`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Velocity of efflux of the liquid, `p=sqrt(2gh)`
According to the problem,
`h rho g=9.8xx10^3`
or,` " "gh=(9.8xx10^3)/(2500)`
`therefore " " v=sqrt((2xx9.8xx10^3)/(2500))=2.8 m. s^-1`.
