A venturimeter has been connected between two points of a pipe. The radii at these two points are 5 cm and 3 cm respectively. The difference in pressure between these points is equal to that of a water column of height 5 cm. Determine the rate of flow of water through the pipe.

The rate of flow of water,
`V=a_1a_2sqrt((2gh)/(a_1^2-a_2^2))`
[Here, `a_1=pi(5)^2=25pi cm^2, a_2=pi(3)^2=9pi cm^2, h= 5cm, g=980 cm. S^-2]`
`25pi.9pisqrt((2xx980xx5)/((25pi)^2-(9pi)^2))~~3000.6 cm^3.s^-1`.
