The motion of gas molecules ceases at the temperature of absolute zero .Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The average kinetic energy of a gas molecule at an absolute temperature T is `3/2kT`, where k is the Boltzmann constant, at T=0, this kinetic energy becomes zero.
So,molecular motion ceases at the temperature of absolute zero.
