In a gas -filled container, a molecule of speed `200 m//s` collides at an angle of `30^@` with the horizontal face of this container, and rebounds with the same speed. Is the collision elastic or inelastic? In this momentum conserved in this collision?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As the molecule rebounds with the same speed , the collisions is elastic. The momentum is always conserved in a collision, irrespective of whether the collision is elastic or inelastic.
