Find the sum of coefficients in (1+x-3x^...

Find the sum of coefficients in `(1+x-3x^2)^(4163)dot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
Sum `= - 1`

Let
`(1+x-3x^(2))^(4163) = a_(0) + a_(1)x + a_(2)x^(2) + "…."`
Putting `x = 1` on both sides, we get
`(1+1-3)^(4163) = a_(0) + a_(1) + a_(2) + "…."`
Hence, sum of the coefficient is `(-1)^(4163) = -1`.
