Microsporgoenesis is the process of formation of microspores from the pollen mother cell through meiosis, whereas megasporogenesis is the process of formation of megaspores from megaspore mother cell.
Microsporogenesis occurs inside the pollen sac of anther, whereas megasporogenesis occurs inside the ovule.
