A block of mass ` 2 kg` is given velocity `10 m//s` on a rough horizontal surface of friction coefficent`mu = 0.2`. Find the magnitude and the direction of friction force acting on it. After how much time and at what distance it will stop ?

If the block is moving towards right and slowing down, the force of friction and hence acceleration is directed towards left.
`a=("force")/("mass")=(-mumg)/(m)=-mug`
Here `u=10m//s v=0`
Let displacement = s
`s=(v^(2)-u^(2))/(2a)=(0^(2)-10^(2))/(2(-mug))=255m`
