When compared to `CN^(-),NO^(+) and CO,N_(2)` is chemically inert. Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Nitrogen is inert because of non - polar bond nature and high bond dissociation energy `(N-=N)`. The rest all are polar molecules which can easily dissociate to participate in chemical reactions.
