Hinsberg.s reagent (benzene sulphonyl chloride) is used to distinguish `1^(@), 2^(@),3^(@)` amines. With Hinsberg.s reagent, `1^(@)` amines give a sulphonamide, souble in alkali, `2^(@)` amines form a sulphonamide, insoluble n alkali, while `3^(@)` amines do not react at all.
