What is entropy of fusion?...

What is entropy of fusion?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When one mole of the solid melts at its melting point reversibly the heat absorbed is called molar heat of vapourisation. The entropy change is given by
`DeltaS_v = (DeltaH_v)/T_b`
where `DeltaH_v` is molar heat of fusion . `T_b` is melting point.
