Explain how an opaque paper can be made translucent.

A paper is a tranlucent medium of light. The pores of an opaque paper do not allow any light of get transmitted as some part of it get either absorbed or reflected . On oiling it , the pores get filled with oil, and hence, some part of light can be transmitted while remaining light gets reflected or absorbed , Hence, oiled paper behaves as a translucent object.
