(a) case I , rusting does not take place.
In case II, rusting does not take place.
In case III, rusting takes place. In case I , fused calcium chloride is taken which absorbs the moisture as a result of which the air in the test tube remains dry . Hence , rusting doesn ' t take place.
In case II , boiled water is taken which is devoid of oxygen . the layer of oil on the surface of water prevents enrty of air into the test tube . therefore, rusting is prevented in this.
Air (oxygen) and water / moisture are essential for rusting to take place.
