Explanation

A complex carbohydrates present in the cell wall of plants is cellulose. In human beings, the enzyme cellulose is absent which helps in digesting cellulose. Hence, it acts asa roughage. This roughage adds fibre to the diet and helps in easy movement of bowel and prevents constipation.
